How to choose a freight forwarder in Pakistan: 8 questions to ask
6 min read · By Lonesons Enterprises, Sialkot & Karachi · Updated October 2026
The cheapest quote is rarely the cheapest shipment. Use these questions to compare forwarders properly.
- Do they handle customs clearance themselves? One team for freight and clearance means fewer hand-offs.
- What memberships and accreditations do they hold? Look for bodies such as IATA, PIFFA, ACAAP and customs agent associations.
- Do they know your product? Sports goods, surgical instruments, textiles and leather each have their own documentation habits.
- Is the quote all-in? Ask for origin, freight, destination and local charges in one sheet.
- Who will you speak to? A named contact who answers quickly matters more than a polished brochure.
- How do they communicate status? Ask how and when you will get updates.
- How do they handle problems? Ask about delays, claims and insurance before you need them.
- Can they give references? Established forwarders can name customers in your sector.
